Baking is a pretty big deal in our house. When I was in grad school, I would stay up late into the night and early into the morning baking dozens upon dozens of cookies in a menagerie of flavors. The scientific nature of it quelled my internal panic. Now, I don’t have so much to panic about but my daughter is older and loves to help in the kitchen. She’s got her own set of knives and we’ve come to a sharing agreement on the measuring spoons. These were a just a few of the six dozen sugar cookies we made for our annual holiday party. Cookie decorating is pretty much the one and only activity we ever manage to pull off and thus we needed all six dozen of these to keep everyone busy. These days and sessions where I get to sit back and watch people be and enjoy and interact and photograph it all are my chocolate.
